We’re Listening
14 Jan 2025
We are currently running our annual Rent Consultation which ends on Friday 24 January 2025, proposing a rent increase of 4.9%.
Last year we increased all our Rent Discounts to help reduce the impact of our annual Rent Increase. But this year we are offering all our Bronze, Gold and Platinum Key Tenants new discounts across a range of supermarkets, shops and other retailers which should mean all tenants can save more with these new discounts than the Rent Increase will add to their monthly rent.
One thing that has been highlighted by those of you that are already receiving the new discounts is that Housing Perks discounts can be a little fiddly to use at the tills, so we have collected some tips, tricks and troubleshooting to help.
- Any money left on your voucher is available next time you shop, or if your voucher only covers part of the cost of your shop, you can pay the rest by card or in cash as normal
- So, if you frequently visit a particular shop, why not buy a larger voucher and just scan it whenever you make a purchase (for example, you get a £3.75 Greggs meal deal for your lunch Monday to Friday, so you buy a £20 Greggs voucher for £18.20, scan it each day, and on Friday treat yourself to one of their £4.95 meal deals!)
- If your supermarket has terrible phone signal, and your voucher takes too long to load, you can take a screenshot of the voucher barcode before you go in, so you don’t need a signal at the till.
- If you’re joint tenants, you can both use the app, it’s not restricted to one phone per tenancy – go for it and double your savings!
- You can use the vouchers in conjunction with other money saving deals, for example, Top Cashback, student discounts, Blue Light cards, in-store loyalty card points or other in-store discounts, and so on.
- You can gift vouchers to other people, the vouchers don’t have to be for just your household (although only members of your household can sign up for the app)
- Vouchers can be printed if you want to gift them to someone who is offline.
- You can use the vouchers to ‘top up’ other apps, for example the Starbucks or Amazon apps.
- A wide range of payment options are available, Apple Pay, Google Pay, saved credit and debit card details and Open Banking with a bank app (this will be old hat to tenants using Rent Collector)
