Universal Credit and your Rent Increase

Just a wee reminder – if you’re on Universal Credit (UC) and you’ve not updated the DWP with your new rent yet, please log into your account and update the DWP now to make sure your UC increases in line with your new rent.

We understand that it can be a bit confusing what you need to claim if you also receive a Key Tenant Discount and/or a service charge, but you can find the correct amount on your Rent Statement.

When you update the DWP, the amount you input into the rent field is your full rent which is the first figure on your Rent Breakdown, and the amount you input into service charges is the total of any other charges on your Rent Breakdown, e.g. factoring, stair cleaning, community alarm, communal electricity, etc.
